St. Thomas might be just 32 square miles, but it’s packed with activities for all ages and adventure levels. We’ve listed our top 10 favorite things to do in St. Thomas, including some can’t-miss spots, hidden gems, and of course, our personal favorites. Enjoy, and remember that our concierge service is available to help coordinate any of these activities for your group. Our concierge service is always free when you stay at an Island Luxury condo or villa!
1. Private Boat Charter
When you want to head off the beaten path, a private boat charter is the way to go. Explore hidden beaches, visit secret snorkeling spots or curl up in the sun while the waves rock your worries away. By the time you make it back to shore, you’ll have memories to last a lifetime. We work with some of the most talented captains and crews on the island - just ask, and we’ll help you schedule a trip you’ll never forget!

2. Zip Lining
Explore St. Thomas’s rainforest by zipline! Your pulse will be racing while you fly through the trees and catch stunning views of St. Thomas and surrounding islands. It might seem extreme, but this activity can be enjoyed by the entire family, including kids as young as 5. Our concierge service can help you book the perfect zipline adventure and arrange transportation to and from the activity.
3. Magens Bay
If you love clear water, gentle waves and baby-soft white sand, you’ve found your happy place. This mile-long stretch of sand has restrooms, showers, concessions and watersport rentals, so there’s more than enough to keep your group comfortable and entertained for the entire day. We recommend going early to soak in the natural beauty before the majority of beachgoers arrive.

4. Mountain Top
We’re not sure what we love more about Mountain Top - the famous banana daiquiris or the sweeping views of Magens Bay, St. John and the British Virgin Islands. It’s a great place to take a break from the beach, relax and snap some gorgeous photos of the island from a bird’s eye point of view. To visit Mountain Top, you’ll need to rent a car or arrange a stop with your island tour guide, which brings us to the next of our favorite things to do on St. Thomas…
5. Island & Snorkel Tours
First time on St. Thomas? There’s no better way to get a feel for the island than on a guided tour. You’ll see our most famous sites, enjoy world-class snorkeling and even have a chance to browse the shops in Havensight for that perfect piece of jewelry - duty-free! Be sure to tell your guide about your interests. Most will be happy to tailor the tour to what you most want to do and see.

6. Scuba Diving
The warm waters of the U.S. Virgin Islands are perfect for scuba divers of all experience levels. Beginning divers will love spotting stingrays and dolphins at St. John’s Congo Cay. For intermediate and advanced divers, we recommend exploring one of the nearby shipwrecks like the Cartanser Senior or Miss Opportunity. If you’re new to diving but want to give it a try, we can also help you book a training program created specifically to introduce first-timers to the sport. Just ask our complimentary concierge service for help!
7. Deep Sea Fishing
Fishing enthusiasts come from around the world to explore the waters surrounding St. Thomas, which are famous for blue marlin, tuna, mahi-mahi, sailfish and wahoo. What’s our secret? St. Thomas is located along a five-mile-deep oceanic trench, creating the perfect conditions to snag record-setting catch. We’ll help you arrange a half-day trip, a full-day excursion, or the multi-day fishing trip of your dreams.
8. Hiking in St. John
St. John might be known for its beautiful beaches, but it’s also home to stunning hiking trails. We love the short trail to the scenic Peace Hill Windmill, which at just .02 miles is a great option for kids and anyone looking for a picture-perfect photo op. Adventurous hikers won’t want to miss the five-mile Reef Bay Trail. You’ll see ancient petroglyphs and the remains of a 19th century plantation as you trek through the lush Virgin Islands National Park. Our concierge service is here to help you plan your ferry trip from St. Thomas to St. John and back again!

9. Tropical Treasure Hunt
Experience the thrill of hunting for hidden treasure, just like the pirates that once called these waters their home. Some hunts will have you exploring mangroves by night for hidden clues, while others will send you across the island to find “lost pirate gold”. Our concierge service will work with our friends at The Tropical Treasure Hunt Co. to plan a live-action adventure that your group will never forget.
10. Seaplane to St. Croix
A 30-minute seaplane flight will get you to our neighboring island of St. Croix. Learn about the island’s pirate history at Fort Frederik, snorkel with eagle rays and sea turtles at Buck Island Reef National Monument, or explore bioluminescent water in a glass-bottom kayak at Salt River Bay. No need for a passport - like St. Thomas, this island is also a U.S. territory.
